Class-wise strategy for clearing JEE

Wondering if it the right time to start JEE preparation? How and where can you start studying, knowing that you’re heading in the right direction? Will you be able to accomplish what you want?
Our team at IITians Way comprise of engineers (IITians and NITians) having vast experience. We have discussed some of the best techniques which will help you in accomplishing what you want.

If you’re in class VI-VIII

There’s really no need to start preparing for an exam that’s going to happen after five years. We know there are some coaching institutes which provide coaching for JEE right after V, they are a sheer wastage of time and money. It’s time for having fun and learning new stuff in life. Right now, you might not even be knowing whether you would like to pursue engineering or not? You may solve logical reasoning books (they’ll be a lot of fun and you’ll enjoy solving those) in your leisure time. Goodbye! See you after some years.

If you’re in class IX or X

We’re really glad to see you here, being aware of your future is a great quality that is going to help you excel in life. Let us first share a truth with you, syllabus of classes IX and X comprise only for 1-2% of basic concepts in JEE Mains and Advanced. All the things taught to you in these classes are of introductory level, so that you can decide which stream to choose in class XI. Our recommendation would be to normally study for boards with focusing more on Science and Mathematics. Alongside, solve logical reasoning which will sharpen your brain muscles. There is no need to join any coaching institute for the same. Coaching institutes teach logical reasoning and some simple portions of class XI syllabus which they’ll again teach when you’re in class XI.

If you’re in class XI

The best time to start your preparation is NOW! Even if all the two year courses have started, you should join them as soon as possible.
There are many different options using which you can prepare for JEE and you can find them all here.

If you’re in class XII

Better late than never. However, it’s going to be tough... VERY TOUGH. You’ll need to write board exams as well as JEE mains and advanced this year. But, IT’S NOT IMMPOSSIBLE. And the method we’re going to share with you is THE BEST and if everything goes well, you’ll be enjoying in an IIT next year.
It is highly likely that you must be going to school every day, and at this point of time it is next to impossible to change that schedule. Depending on the time left, you’ll need to cover both class XI’s and XII’s syllabus well before time.
If you have less than six months lefts, it’s better to focus only and only on boards. Having NCERT (especially chemistry) on your tips will help you ace both boards and JEE Mains. If your mains rank is good (under 12,000), you will get any of the top NIT’s. But, as we mentioned earlier focus only and only on boards. That means you should not solve any JEE related material until your board exams are over, otherwise you’ll end up having poor marks both in JEE mains as well as boards.
If you’ve more than six months left, both the class XI and class XII syllabus has to be completed. We would recommend you watching etoos video lectures of class XIII (Yes, you read it right!). It’s a five months course which will take you from a very basic level to JEE Advanced level. You can watch video lectures at home while solving their material during school. In school, only science and mathematics are important and classes of other subjects can be used constructively for solving questions from etoos modules.

If you’ve already had your first attempt

Unhappy with the JEE score you’ve got? It’s highly recommended that you drop for a year and join a coaching institute. Preparing for JEE completely on your own (self-study) wouldn’t be enough, a little bit of push that coaching institutes provide is necessary.

Books recommended by Toppers for Board Exams

I know how painful it is to go through NCERT, and understand what's written in it. It doesn’t matter whether you are topper of your class, or an average student scoring a little more than 70%. The books I’ve mentioned below, will surely boost up your marks. I have myself used these books and secured more than 92% in CBSE boards. 6 out of 8 friends, whom I suggested these books have secured more than 90% marks in CBSE board examinations 2017.
